16 May 08: China earthquake - damage to nuclear plants and dams?

Officials in China are investigating the damage caused to the infrastructure around the epicentre, not only roads, rail, water supplies and buildings, but also dams and nuclear power plants.  There is also a nuclear weapons installation at Mianyang, in the earthquake zone.  Find out more here about the scientific impact of the quake.

The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute has published the following information from the US Geological Survey, which includes data about the earthquake such as P wave travel times.
